Sustainability For Education professional development day 7th November 2014. A FREE registered MyPL event for educators and community members. Join universities, schools and students from around Australia to create learning experiences that help our water ways. Connect your students to global issues and solutions that give them a real audience for their ideas to be expressed. Guest speakers include: *Heidi Taylor: CEO Tangaroa Blue *Catherine Knight: Coastal and estuary officer- Byron Shire Council *North East Waste *Arakwal People of Byron Bay.

This Sustainability For Education event has a focus on marine Debris and Coastal Management, covering areas of: Cross Curricular and 21st Century Learning • Concept and project based learning • How to collect real data • Connection to local and global community • How to increase student engagement with hands on and creative expression • Authenticity and developing a real audience for your students • Learning in nature • Free resources aligned to the curriculum • Suitable for K - 12 all subject areas.
